Creative Ballet

The classes are fun and creative with an emphasis on building confidence and coordination as well as teaching poise, movement quality, musicality, spatial awareness, strength and flexibility.

The classes are structured to suit both the age and ability of the children. Imaginative ideas are used to encourage the children to explore a variety of ways to dance.

The children skip, gallop, tiptoe and dance to classical music learning about the joy of movement. They will learn basic ballet technique whilst being guided through an exciting and creative story or game.

As the children mature and progress the classes become more structured and will follow the Cecchetti Syllabus. The Cecchetti method of classical ballet is affiliated to the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing and is recognised worldwide.
The children can choose to take an exam or to simply carry on to the next level when they are ready.

Sally has entered many children for Cecchetti Ballet exams with an 100% pass rate.

Of course there is always time for games and creativity.
The children are encouraged to develop choreographic and improvisation skills creating their own dances to many different types of music.

Each term ends with an informal 'watching day' where the children have an opportunity to demonstrate their ballet technique as well as show off choreographic work.
